Stepping into Your Power
Part One: A four part series that can enable you to make BIG changes!
When you decide to make positive changes in your life, it allows you to “step into your power”. The choice to better yourself as an athlete, student, employee, or whatever the case may be can be intimidating. Yet, when we choose to do this it opens a new level of living. So much of this depends on your mental health. Mental health is an accumulation of so many aspects of our life! So how can we step into our power? Let’s take a look at one of the steps that will help us on our journey toward the goal of becoming.
First and foremost, remember that your worth is intrinsic. It is not based on income, body size, your looks, athleticism, your relationship status, or your education. Start believing you have value just for being the human that you are. Sure, we all have goals and should be working toward them. However, that does not mean the person you are today, as you stand, is worth any less than any other person on this earth. You are unique and we need you to make this whole puzzle fit. This can be the hardest step for some people to embrace and yet, in my opinion, is the most important.
The key here is to honor your value in this moment and keep your eye on goals you have in place. Your goals should ultimately make your life more enriched in some way. Notice I said your life and not you. Your intrinsic worth is not tied to your accomplishments. When we workout and become stronger we are not worth any more or less than we were before our transformations. However, our lives can be greatly improved. Now we can move more easily, carry more weight, our joints may hurt less, we may have more serotonin and other “good mood” chemicals being produced. You can see the benefits and yet so many people fail to see that they are worth this effort. Regardless of the attributes which society deems worthy, we are worthy. The moment you can believe that in your core is the moment that you begin to step into your power.
